What happened, and when

On 26 October 2026 the dataminer known as Aveyn_Knight posted a first pass over the Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave build, and the findings were summarised the same day on the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit before being written up by Nintendo Everything, ComicBook, TwistedVoxel and Output Lag. The pass was only possible after reported methods for extracting data from Switch 2 titles appeared, which is why a game released on 17 September 2026 only started yielding file-level detail in late October.

Three things are worth stating before any of the detail. The datamine is community work, not an announcement. The Reddit summary was labelled preliminary, so later passes have added to it. And Nintendo has said nothing about any of it, which means every entry below is reported content found inside the build rather than a confirmed feature, a confirmed date or a confirmed roster.

The eleven unused roster names

The headline number from the first pass is eleven names sitting in the roster menu that no shipped content reaches: Chiara, Churness, Credna, Cleobulus, Gladius, Jurah, Kalla, Myson, Nomved, Smyrnos and Suarez. The reporting was explicit that a roster entry does not imply a playable unit, and the cross-references are the reason to take it seriously: names that also appear in costume and support tables have far more supporting structure behind them than names that appear once.

Five names appear in all three tables: Credna, Cleobulus, Gladius, Kalla and Myson. Those are the ones with the deepest trail of supporting data, which is why they are the safest names to expect in a later Expansion Pass wave if any of this turns into shipped content. Chiara, Churness, Jurah, Nomved, Smyrnos and Suarez appear only in the roster table, a shape equally consistent with cut units or placeholders. Mars reaches costume and support data without a roster entry, and Anna appears in support data only, which fits a series regular who is referenced before she is implemented.

Two of the names carry a Fodlan echo. Cleobulus and Myson are the names of Those Who Slither in the Dark members in Three Houses, and the Macuil crest below points the same direction. That is a pattern in the data rather than a statement of intent, and it is the kind of link the Expansion Pass announcement already established by shipping prototype versions of the Heroes' Relics.

DLC lords: obelisks, themes and a second-part portrait

The second cluster concerns the paid Expansion Pass rather than the base roster. Each DLC lord reportedly owns an obelisk with a theme of its own, and the obelisk theme audio files were located, which is the most concrete item in the whole pass because audio is harder to leave behind by accident than a string. Each lord also has a glowing portrait that unlocks after completing Part 2, and there are references pointing at that second part from each lord's data.

The exception is Orchel, whose data shows no Part 2 content. The reporting offered three explanations without choosing between them: it was not finished, she was never planned to have a second part, or she receives something structurally different. Given that Fortune's Weave runs its four routes in three parts, a lord without second-part content is the single most interesting anomaly in the pass.

What this does not do is date anything. The Expansion Pass was released on 15 October 2026 with Wave 1 available immediately, three waves planned, and the later two waves given windows rather than dates. Datamined structure tells you that content exists; it tells you nothing about when it ships. The current wave schedule lives on the Expansion Pass page.

Maddening, and the diadem tied to Macuil

The shipped difficulty ladder runs Normal and Hard, each crossed with Casual or Classic, so Hard Classic is the top of what the game currently offers. The files contain a clear screen for beating the game on Maddening, the difficulty name Three Houses added post-launch. No menu entry in the released build exposes it, so the honest description is a prepared screen with no route to it yet.

The other item is a diadem named Diadem of Sagacity, carrying the Crest of Macuil — Macuil being the saint whose crest appears in Three Houses. Its description and effect did not survive extraction in readable form, which means the item can be reported as existing and nothing more. Our crests and diadems page tracks the crests that are actually obtainable, and this one is not among them.

What players expect the Maddening screen to become

An unused screen is a promise nobody has signed. The most useful thing a creator can add is the argument for what the mode should look like, and Mangs spends ten minutes on exactly that while making one claim about the live game that is worth checking yourself:

Fortune's Weave NEEDS a PROPER Maddening Mode!
  • Three Houses is the cautionary tale, not the template. He argues its hardest difficulty was lazy: enemy stats inflated until early maps turned tedious, exclusive enemy skills that punished defensive play, experience gains cut hard, and reinforcements converted into same-turn ambushes. Every one of those is a design choice a future Maddening mode here could decline.
  • The precedent for timing. Three Houses shipped its hardest difficulty alongside a paid wave rather than at launch, which is the precedent the datamined screen fits: a finished UI waiting for a wave with a release date.
  • A hidden mechanic he says you can verify. In most main-story battles, he reports, enemy critical rates are suppressed by a flat amount, so your own crit reads as zero regardless of equipment. If that is a leftover from testing, a harder mode is the obvious place to switch it back on, and the claim is checkable in any save by opening an enemy's stat page.

Creator analysis, embedded for context. The transcript was read to situate the datamined screen; no figures were taken from it, because auto-captions mangle exactly the numbers this kind of argument depends on. The crit-suppression claim is his observation, not an official statement.

A second source agrees the names exist

Independent corroboration comes from an unexpected direction. Serenes Forest's growth table already lists growth values for Jurah, Mars, Smyrnos, Credna, Kalla, Cleobulus, Myson and Anna under a heading the site marks as DLC with a question mark, alongside Aurora, who does not appear in the eleven-name list. Those values are the kind of thing a site only publishes when the unit exists in the build with stats attached, so two unrelated efforts converge on the same handful of names.

That is exactly why those units are kept off our growth rate table. The 63 units on that page are the ones both published tables treat as roster units; the names above are parked here until Nintendo ships them.

How much weight to put on this

A datamine is evidence about a build, not a promise about a release. The pattern in this one — unused names in three parallel tables, an obelisk per lord with theme audio, a finished difficulty screen — is the pattern of content that was built and held rather than content that was abandoned early. It is also completely consistent with a game whose Expansion Pass has two waves still to ship.

What it cannot support is a date, a price or a roster. Anyone quoting a Wave 2 character list off this pass is extrapolating from table entries; the reporting itself declined to do that, and so does this page.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Fortune's Weave datamine official?
No. It is community work published on 26 October 2026 by the dataminer Aveyn_Knight and summarised on the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit, which labelled the pass preliminary. Nintendo and Intelligent Systems have not commented on any of it, so everything on this page is reported data-mined content rather than announced content.
Do the datamined names mean those characters are coming as DLC?
Not on their own. A name sitting in the roster table means the build references it, which is equally consistent with a cut unit, a placeholder or a unit that ships in a later Expansion Pass wave. The five names that also appear in both costume and support data are the strongest candidates, and the game's three announced waves are documented separately on the Expansion Pass page.
What does the Diadem of Sagacity do?
The item exists in the files with the Crest of Macuil attached, which is the same crest the Verdant Wind route of Three Houses ties to Macuil. Its effect is not written anywhere readable, so treat the item as an unused entry with a Fodlan connection rather than an announced reward.
Is there a Maddening difficulty in Fortune's Weave?
The shipped game offers Normal and Hard, each with Casual or Classic, and Hard Classic is the top of that ladder. The files contain a user-interface screen for clearing on Maddening, which suggests a harder setting was planned or is held for later. Nothing in game currently exposes it.
Can I use this page to unlock anything early?
No, and that is deliberate. This page summarises published reporting about what exists inside the build. Save editing, dumping a Switch 2 title and installing modified files are outside what this site documents, and the reported method depended on a jailbroken console.

Sources and method

Reported by Nintendo Everything on 26 October 2026, with the same findings carried by ComicBook, TwistedVoxel, Output Lag and Nintendo News Hub, all crediting Aveyn_Knight and the GamingLeaksAndRumours summary. Growth values for the unconfirmed names were read from Serenes Forest's DLC-marked table on 2026-10-30. This page summarises that reporting and links the parts that are already confirmed elsewhere on the site; it does not document extraction methods.
